Manchester is just a great city for a weekend break
The Northern Quarter is brilliant - loads of independent cafes, cool street art and little shops you won't find anywhere else. The whole city feels easy to get around and people are genuinely friendly. Loved every bit of it.
Football mad and proud - this city delivers
Old Trafford is something else even if you're not a United fan. The energy around Manchester on a match day is electric and the pubs nearby are packed and fun. City centre is walkable and there's always something going on. Great trip overall.
Brilliant city, way more to do than I expected
Spent a few days exploring and the Arndale and Market Street area kept us busy with shopping. Food scene is seriously good - tried a proper Manchester egg barm and it was delicious. The people here are warm and chatty which makes the whole trip so much nicer.
Really enjoyed the culture and music scene here
Manchester has so much music history and you feel it everywhere. Walked past the Haçienda site and it gave me chills knowing what happened there. Bars and live music venues are everywhere and the crowds are mixed and welcoming. Solid city.
Perfect for a Christmas city break
The Christmas markets around Albert Square were so good - mulled wine, street food, festive stalls everywhere. It gets busy but that just adds to the fun. The city looks brilliant all lit up and the shopping is top notch too. Really enjoyed the whole trip.
Manchester surprised us in the best way
Didn't know what to expect but the city completely won us over. Castlefield area is beautiful for a walk along the canal and there are some really nice bars nearby. Food was cheap and tasty, people were friendly. Would recommend without hesitation.
